We’ll be there all week.
It’s that time of year again—time for green industry professionals from across the region to gather at the Northern Green Expo to catch up on industry news, reconnect with old friends, and watch some great presentations on how to build a thriving business. Bryan and I will be at the show all week, giving presentations, manning our booth, and joining in all the festivities. We hope to meet you all there!

Trees and the Law by Patrick McGuiness and Manuel Jordan
“Join attorney Patrick McGuiness and arborist Manuel Jordan to find out what the law says about tree ownership. What can property owners legally do when it comes to branches that overhang their property, and roots that invade their yard? Learn about who is responsible for trees that straddle property lines, and how liability is assessed when a tree falls onto a neighboring property. In addition to learning what the law says, receive practical advice for working with property owners, neighbors, and municipalities to resolve tree issues without the need for the legal system.”
Date: Wed, January 14, 2015
Time: 12:30 PM – 1:20 PM
Location: 103DEF

Liabilities in a Park/School Setting by Patrick McGuiness
“Liability is a huge concern for parks and sports facilities. While some things are completely out of your control, there are many steps you can take to minimize your exposure to liability. In this humorous and educational seminar, Patrick McGuiness will cover the types of risk which are inherent at any park or facility, and what can be done to limit the amount of risk. We will cover what steps you can take from a maintenance standpoint, and how you can modify employee behavior to improve overall safety. Finally, the seminar will address calculated risks which have been deemed acceptable (such as alcohol policies), and help you figure out what level of risk you are willing to take on as a ‘cost of doing business.'”
